Gear Review: Redington Form Game Rod
Redington is fast becoming one of my favorite fly fishing companies. New innovative products continue to come month after month. I’ve had the chance to play around with their new Form Game Rod for the last little bit. In a word its FUN! The rod comes in a semi hard plastic tube and breaks down to two short 25″ pieces.
It includes a real floating fly line designed by RIO and a bright piece of yarn to mark where your cast lands.
I’ve used other practice rods on the market. They dont feel like a real fly rod. This short piece of graphite does. The line loads the rod from six feet all the way out to 30 which is the end of the specialized line.
The rod is meant for games with friends at fishing camp, or practice around the yard. It assembles in seconds and is just plain fun to cast.
With Christmas right around the corner I want to recommend this practice/game rod as a great gift for the fly fisherman in your life. At only $39 bucks you really cant afford not to.
